Located at 4300 AL-147, Auburn, AL 36830, The Potting Shed North College operates as a garden center serving Auburn in Alabama. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
In Auburn, nurseries are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in Alabama, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Check the listing for hours, seasonal closures and Google rating before you go.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 8 am–5 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Auburn is in Alabama, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Auburn is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Alabama's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I highly recommend The Potting Shed!! I needed a special basket of flowers for an engagement. I was coming in from out of town, so I didn’t have time to put it together myself. Kaitlyn put together the most beautiful basket with a bow. Great customer service. Thank you!!

Absolutely obsessed with this planter from The Potting Shed! The colors are even more beautiful in person—the vibrant coral blooms, soft pink flowers, crisp white accents, and bright chartreuse vine create the perfect summer combination. It adds so much color and charm to our patio and looks like something straight out of a magazine. Every time I walk outside, it makes me smile. Not only is it stunning, but it’s thriving and filling out beautifully. If you’re looking for a statement planter that turns heads and instantly elevates your outdoor space, this is it. The Potting Shed knocked it out of the park!

We stopped by there this past Saturday just to browse and pick up potting soil. The two young men that waited on us were outstanding. One had only been there three days and he was awesome. I love this place. So much to choose from.
